India Records Highest Rise In Greenhouse Gas Emissions in 2024: UNEP Report / ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਗ੍ਰੀਨਹਾਊਸ ਗੈਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਾਧਾ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ: ਯੂਐੱਨਈਪੀ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ
- According to the UN Environment Programme's (UNEP) Emissions Gap Report 2024 and other related 2024 reports, India is the third-largest total greenhouse gas (GHG) emitter after China and the United States.
- India is the third-largest emitter, having surpassed the European Union in 2023.
- However, the report did highlight that India recorded the highest absolute growth in emissions (when compared to the previous year, 2023), followed by China and Indonesia.
- India's per capita emissions remain significantly below the global and G20 averages.

- ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਨੇ ਨਿਕਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵਾਧਾ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ, 2023 ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ), ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਚੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਡੋਨੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਹਨ।
