• Athletics Federation of India (AFI) announced that India will bid to host the World Athletics Championships in 2029 or 2031.
• The goal is to win hosting rights for one of these two top-level events and boost India’s hopes of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games.
• ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ (ਏਐਫਆਈ) ਨੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ 2029 ਜਾਂ 2031 ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਅਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਲਈ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਏਗਾ।
• ਇਸ ਦਾ ਟੀਚਾ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੋ ਚੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਦੇ ਟੂਰਨਾਮੈਂਟਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਜਿੱਤਣਾ ਅਤੇ 2036 ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਮੀਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।
