World Migratory Bird Day 2025

  • Theme – "Shared spaces: Creating bird-friendly cities and communities"
  • The two peak days of World Migratory Bird Day 2025 will be 10 May 2025 and 11 October 2025.
  • Celebrated twice each year — on the second Saturday of May and October — marking the spring and autumn migration seasons in the northern and southern hemispheres.
  • The Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) (Bonn Convention), is an international environmental treaty under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
  •  It was signed in 1979 in Bonn, Germany, and came into force in 1983.
  •  India became a party to CMS in 1983.

  • Chandigarh University's Student Chapter of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), world's largest travel promotional organization, has received the "PATA Best Sustainability Initiative Award" for its exemplary efforts in promoting sustainability and social responsibility.
  • Chandigarh University is the first university in India to be awarded the "PATA Best Sustainability Initiative Award" which is given to a Student Chapter whose activities over the past year have demonstrated excellent support for sustainability, social responsibility, the environment and the responsible development of the tourism industry.

  • The Delhi government inaugurated its first-ever Global Wildlife Fair from October 10 to 12, 2025, to promote eco-tourism and highlight the capital's rich biodiversity.
  • The three-day event took place at the Constitution Club of India and was organized by the city's Tourism Department.
  • The fair aims to shift Delhi's tourism focus from its historical landmarks to its natural heritage, which includes biodiversity parks, the Yamuna riverbank, and the Ridge.
