India to Bid for 2029 and 2031 World Athletics Championships / ਭਾਰਤ 2029 ਅਤੇ 2031 ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਅਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਲਈ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਏਗਾ

  • Athletics Federation of India (AFI) announced that India will bid to host the World Athletics Championships in 2029 or 2031.
  • The goal is to win hosting rights for one of these two top-level events and boost India’s hopes of hosting the 2036 Olympic Games.
  • ਭਾਰਤੀ ਅਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਫੈਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ (ਏਐਫਆਈ) ਨੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ 2029 ਜਾਂ 2031 ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਅਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੀ ਮੇਜ਼ਬਾਨੀ ਲਈ ਬੋਲੀ ਲਗਾਏਗਾ।

  • The Indian boxing contingent finished with 11 medals at the World Boxing Cup 2025, Kazakhstan, with three gold, five silver and three bronze medals.
  •   All three golds were won by women boxers - Nupur(80+ kg category, ), Jasmine Lamboria (57 kg category,) and Sakshi(54 kg category. ).
  • The 2025 World Boxing Cup was held in Astana, Kazakhstan
