Ministry of Mines releases India's first State Mining Readiness Index / ਖਣਨ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਰਾਜ ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਸੂਚਕਾਂਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ
- On October 16, 2025, the Ministry of Mines released India's first State Mining Readiness Index (SMRI).
- The SMRI ranks states on their performance in mining sector reforms, with the top states in each category receiving ₹100 crore in incentives.
- The index is a tool to evaluate states and union territories on managing and developing non-coal mineral resources.
- The SMRI uses four pillars for assessment:
- 1.Auction performance
- 2.Mine operationalization
- 3.Exploration efforts
- 4.Sustainable mining practices
- Category A (Mineral-rich states): Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat were the top states.
- Category B (States with moderate mineral potential): Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam led this group.
- Category C (States with limited mineral resources): Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Tripura ranked highest.
- 16 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ, 2025 ਨੂੰ, ਖਾਣ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਟੇਟ ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਰੈਡੀਨੇਸ ਇੰਡੈਕਸ (ਐੱਸਐੱਮਆਰਆਈ) ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ।
- ਐਸਐਮਆਰਆਈ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਣਨ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਸੁਧਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ 'ਤੇ ਦਰਜਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹਰੇਕ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਦੇ ਚੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਨੂੰ 100 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੋਤਸਾਹਨ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
- SMRI ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ:
- ਨਿਲਾਮੀ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ
- ਖਾਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ
- ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਯਤਨ
- ਟਿਕਾਊ ਮਾਈਨਿੰਗ ਅਭਿਆਸ
- ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਏ (ਖਣਿਜ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਰਾਜ): ਮੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼, ਰਾਜਸਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਚੋਟੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਸਨ।
- ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਬੀ (ਦਰਮਿਆਨੀ ਖਣਿਜ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਜ): ਗੋਆ, ਉੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਾਮ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ।
- ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀ ਸੀ (ਸੀਮਤ ਖਣਿਜ ਸਰੋਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਜ): ਪੰਜਾਬ, ਉਤਰਾਖੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਸਥਾਨ 'ਤੇ ਹਨ।
