- The government of India has appointed a senior Indian Space Organisation (ISRO scientist V. Narayanan as the 11th chairman of ISRO and secretary of the Department of Space (DOS).
- He will succeed the current chairman S.Somanth and assume office on 14 January 2025.
- V. Narayanan has been appointed for a term of two years with effect from 14 January 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
