- Launched on April 24, 2020, the SVAMITVA scheme aims to provide legal documentation of property ownership in rural areas using drone and GIS technology.
- These property cards serve as legal proof of ownership and can be used as collateral for loans and other purposes
- Mizoram has become the first Northeast state to distribute property cards under the SVAMITVA scheme, which provides legal ownership documents to rural households.
- The state has already distributed 2,909 cards and plans to issue around 35,000 more in future phases, promoting rural development.
