The Registrar General of India launched the Vital Statistics of India Report, 2023 / ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਅੰਕੜਾ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ, 2023 ਲਾਂਚ ਕੀਤਾ
- The Registrar General of India (RGI) launched the "Vital Statistics of India based on the Civil Registration System (CRS) Report, 2023".
- The report, which highlights India's demographic trends, was released on or around October 14, 2025.
- The report provided insights into birth and death registration, Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB), and institutional births in India during 2023.
- Births: In 2023, India recorded 2.52 crore births, a slight decrease from the previous year, with a high registration coverage of 98.4%.
- Deaths: Registered deaths increased marginally to 86.6 lakh in 2023.
- Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB): The number of females born per 1,000 males varied across states, with Arunachal Pradesh having the highest SRB (1,085) and Jharkhand the lowest (899).
- Institutional births: The report indicated that 74.7% of registered births took place in health institutions in 2023.

The RGI is a permanent organization under the Ministry of Home Affairs established in 1949.
It is responsible for conducting the Census of India and managing the Civil Registration System (CRS) to collect vital statistics.
As of October 2025, the Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India is Mritunjay Kumar Narayan.

- ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨੇ 2023 ਦੌਰਾਨ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ, ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਿੰਗ ਅਨੁਪਾਤ (ਐੱਸਆਰਬੀ) ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਗਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ।
- ਜਨਮ: 2023 ਵਿੱਚ, ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ 2.52 ਕਰੋੜ ਜਨਮ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ, ਜੋ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਤੁਲਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਮੂਲੀ ਕਮੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ 98.4٪ ਦੀ ਉੱਚ ਰਜਿਸਟ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਵਰੇਜ ਹੈ।
- ਮੌਤਾਂ: 2023 ਵਿੱਚ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਡ ਮੌਤਾਂ ਮਾਮੂਲੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਵਧ ਕੇ 86.6 ਲੱਖ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ।
- ਜਨਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਲਿੰਗ ਅਨੁਪਾਤ (ਐਸਆਰਬੀ): ਪ੍ਰਤੀ 1,000 ਮਰਦਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰੁਣਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਐਸਆਰਬੀ (1,085) ਅਤੇ ਝਾਰਖੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ (899) ਹੈ।
- ਸੰਸਥਾਗਤ ਜਨਮ: ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਨੇ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ 74.7٪ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਡ ਜਨਮ 2023 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਹਤ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਏ।
