Star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra conferred rank of Lieutenant Colonel / ਸਟਾਰ ਜੈਵਲਿਨ ਥ੍ਰੋਅ ਖਿਡਾਰੀ ਨੀਰਜ ਚੋਪੜਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੈਫਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਕਰਨਲ ਦਾ ਅਹੁਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ
- Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh and Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi conferred the Honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army upon star javelin thrower and two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra during the pipping ceremony in South Block, New Delhi.
- Neeraj created history by winning India’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in athletics in the men’s javelin throw competition at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
- He continued his stellar performance by winning a silver medal at the Paris Olympics in 2024 and a gold medal at the World Athletics Championships in 2023.

- ਨੀਰਜ ਨੇ ਟੋਕੀਓ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ 2020 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੈਵਲਿਨ ਥ੍ਰੋਅ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਸੋਨ ਤਮਗਾ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਰਚਿਆ ਹੈ।
- ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 2024 ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਰਿਸ ਓਲੰਪਿਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਲਵਰ ਮੈਡਲ ਅਤੇ 2023 ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਲਡ ਐਥਲੈਟਿਕਸ ਚੈਂਪੀਅਨਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲਡ ਮੈਡਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਕੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ।
