Prime Minister Modi virtually attended the 22nd ASEAN-India Summit in Malaysia / ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ 22ਵੇਂ ਆਸੀਆਨ-ਭਾਰਤ ਸਿਖਰ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਚੁਅਲੀ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ
- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually attended the 22nd ASEAN-India Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 26, 2025.
- He joined other ASEAN leaders virtually on the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
- Modi designated 2026 as the "ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation" to boost security, trade, and sustainability in the maritime sector.
- He emphasized expediting the review of the ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement (AITIGA) to unlock the full economic potential of the region.
- Modi congratulated Timor-Leste on becoming the 11th member of ASEAN.
- ASEAN – Association of South East Asia Nations
- Established in 1976 , with Signing of Bangkok declaration
- To accelerate eco growth social progress & cultural development in the region.
- ASEAN + 3 – China, Japan & South Korea
- ASEAN charter is legally binding agreement among 11 ASEAN Member states.

- ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰੇਂਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ 26 ਅਕਤੂਬਰ, 2025 ਨੂੰ ਕੁਆਲਾਲੰਪੁਰ, ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਵਿੱਚ 22ਵੇਂ ਆਸੀਆਨ-ਭਾਰਤ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਰਚੁਅਲੀ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
- ਉਹ ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਨਵਰ ਇਬਰਾਹਿਮ ਦੇ ਸੱਦੇ 'ਤੇ ਆਸੀਆਨ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਰਚੁਅਲ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਏ।
- ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ, ਵਪਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ 2026 ਨੂੰ "ਆਸੀਆਨ-ਭਾਰਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਸਾਲ" ਵਜੋਂ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦ ਕੀਤਾ।
- ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਣ ਲਈ ਆਸੀਆਨ-ਭਾਰਤ ਮੁਕਤ ਵਪਾਰ ਸਮਝੌਤੇ (ਏਆਈਟੀਆਈਜੀਏ) ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
- ਮੋਦੀ ਨੇ ਤਿਮੋਰ ਲੇਸਤੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਸੀਆਨ ਦਾ 11ਵਾਂ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਬਣਨ 'ਤੇ ਵਧਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
- ਬੈਂਕਾਕ ਐਲਾਨਨਾਮੇ 'ਤੇ ਹਸਤਾਖਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ 1976 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
- ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਈਕੋ ਵਿਕਾਸ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਜ਼ ਕਰਨਾ।
- ਆਸੀਆਨ + 3 - ਚੀਨ, ਜਾਪਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਕੋਰੀਆ
- ਆਸੀਆਨ ਚਾਰਟਰ 11 ਆਸੀਆਨ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਲਾਜ਼ਮੀ ਸਮਝੌਤਾ ਹੈ।
