- The 20th East Asia Summit (EAS), held in Kuala Lumpur, adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on the Twentieth Anniversary of the East Asia Summit.
- The declaration reaffirmed the commitment of the 18 participating nations to peace, stability, and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
- The declaration called for the continued implementation of the EAS Plan of Action (2024-2028) to advance practical cooperation in priority areas like environment, energy, education, finance, health issues, and disaster management.

Members: The EAS is a key forum for strategic dialogue in the Indo-Pacific region, involving 19 countries, including ASEAN members.
The EAS is usually held alongside ASEAN Leaders' meetings in the fourth quarter of every year.

The current 19 members of the East Asia Summit are:
The 11 ASEAN member states: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Timor-Leste.
The eight dialogue partners: Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, Russia, and the United States.
- ਕੁਆਲਾਲੰਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ 20 ਵੇਂ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ (ਈਏਐਸ) ਨੇ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਸੰਮੇਲਨ ਦੀ ਵੀਹਵੀਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗੰਢ 'ਤੇ ਕੁਆਲਾਲੰਪੁਰ ਐਲਾਨਨਾਮੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਣਾਇਆ।
- ਐਲਾਨਨਾਮੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਦ-ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ, ਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਲਈ 18 ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
- ਐਲਾਨਨਾਮੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਣ, ਊਰਜਾ, ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਵਿੱਤ, ਸਿਹਤ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਫ਼ਤ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਤਰਜੀਹੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਈਏਐਸ ਕਾਰਜ ਯੋਜਨਾ (2024-2028) ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਮੈਂਬਰ: ਈਏਐੱਸ ਹਿੰਦ-ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਣਨੀਤਕ ਸੰਵਾਦ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਫੋਰਮ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸੀਆਨ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸਮੇਤ 19 ਦੇਸ਼ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।
ਈਏਐੱਸ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਚੌਥੀ ਤਿਮਾਹੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸੀਆਨ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। -
ਈਸਟ ਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਸਮਿਟ ਦੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ 19 ਮੈਂਬਰ ਹਨ:
ਆਸੀਆਨ ਦੇ 11 ਮੈਂਬਰ ਦੇਸ਼: ਬਰੂਨੇਈ, ਕੰਬੋਡੀਆ, ਇੰਡੋਨੇਸ਼ੀਆ, ਲਾਓਸ, ਮਲੇਸ਼ੀਆ, ਮਿਆਂਮਾਰ, ਫਿਲੀਪੀਨਜ਼, ਸਿੰਗਾਪੁਰ, ਥਾਈਲੈਂਡ, ਵੀਅਤਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਤਿਮੋਰ-ਲੇਸਤੇ।
