ISRO announces to land Mangalyaan-2 on Mars by 2030 / ਇਸਰੋ ਨੇ ਮੰਗਲਯਾਨ-2 ਨੂੰ 2030 ਤੱਕ ਮੰਗਲ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ 'ਤੇ ਉਤਾਰਨ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ
- Recent reports, citing ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan, confirm that Mangalyaan-2 (Mars Orbiter Mission 2) is indeed scheduled for launch in 2030.
- This mission represents a major technological leap for India, as its primary goal is to achieve India's first-ever soft landing on the surface of Mars, which is an extremely difficult feat.
- Legacy - It builds upon the historic success of Mangalyaan-1 (MOM) - 2014, which was a purely orbital mission and made India the first nation in Asia to reach Mars' orbit.
- If successful, India will join an elite club of nations—the United States, China, and the former Soviet Union—that have successfully landed a spacecraft on the Martian surface.
