- Main Aim - To build the defenses of peace in the minds of men by promoting collaboration among nations through education, science, culture, and communication in order to further universal respect for justice, the rule of law, human rights, and fundamental freedoms.
- The latest full member to rejoin UNESCO was the United States of America in July 2023. The US had previously withdrawn in 2019.
- The latest country to join the UNESCO at 46th World Heritage Convention as a new State Party is Nauru, which became the 196th State Party.
- Director-General of UNESCO is Khaled El-Enany of Egypt.

ਮੈਂਬਰ ਰਾਜ - 194 ਮੈਂਬਰ ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ 12 ਸਹਿਯੋਗੀ ਮੈਂਬਰ (ਜੁਲਾਈ 2023 ਤੱਕ) -
ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ - ਸਿੱਖਿਆ, ਵਿਗਿਆਨ, ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਚਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਕਰਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਨਿਆਂ, ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ, ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਆਜ਼ਾਦੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਵਿਆਪੀ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
ਜੁਲਾਈ 2023 ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨੈਸਕੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਬਾਰਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਵੀਨਤਮ ਪੂਰਾ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਸੰਯੁਕਤ ਰਾਜ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਨੇ 2019 'ਚ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਹਟਿਆ ਸੀ। -
46 ਵੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਕਨਵੈਨਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਟੇਟ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਯੂਨੈਸਕੋ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਉਰੂ ਹੈ, ਜੋ 196 ਵੀਂ ਸਟੇਟ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣ ਗਈ।
ਯੂਨੈਸਕੋ ਦੇ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ ਜਨਰਲ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਖਾਲਿਦ ਅਲ-ਏਨਾਨੀ ਹਨ।
