- The Index by higher education UK-based firm QS evaluates how countries are equipping themselves to meet evolving global job market demand
- India ranks 25th overall in the index
- The country excels in the future of work indicator, securing the second-highest global score (99.1).
- The United States, known for its Silicon Valley and universities that have updated curricula, comes first with a 100 score.
Followed by the UK, Germany and Australia in that order
- The QS World Future Skills Index classifies economies into four categories based on their overall performance – future skills aspiring, practitioner, contender, and pioneer.
- India is positioned in the contender category.
- The new index is based on four key indicators – skills fit, academic readiness, future of work, economic transformation
- India was ranked second in terms of preparedness for jobs of the future including artificial intelligence (AI) and green skills, only behind the United States
