Chennai-based aerospace start-up Space Kidz India has unveiled 'Vayuputhra', which is being called India's first electric-powered, zero-emission rocket.
It is crafted using 3D printing with carbon fiber and biodegradable plastic, contributing to a lightweight and precise structure.
The battery cost per launch is reportedly just ₹25.
It is powered by in-house designed brushless DC motors and runs on electricity, making it an eco-friendly alternative to conventional rockets that use solid fuels and produce high emissions.
It is designed for low-altitude research, capable of reaching an altitude of up to 6 km.
