The 17th India Game Developer Conference (IGDC), one of South Asia's largest and most crucial events for the gaming industry, was held at the Chennai Trade Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
This was the first time the conference was held in Chennai, marking a shift from its long-time venue in Hyderabad.
Major Outcomes and Initiatives
An announcement was made to establish a Centre of Excellence for gaming in Chennai within six months.
The state also announced its upcoming AVGC-XR Policy 2025 (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality) to support local creators and digital infrastructure.
The GDAI released its landmark national roadmap, aiming for $10 billion in annual gaming exports and $100 billion in total value creation for the sector by 2035, along with the creation of two million jobs.
