About Ningaloo Reef

• It is located on Western Australia‘s remote coast along the East Indian Ocean.
• It is Australia’s largest fringing coral reef, extending across 300 kilometres of coastline.
• One of the world’s most pristine, longest, largest coral reefs.
• The reef sustains both temperate and tropical marine life, including mammals and reptiles. It has about 250 corals, of which 200 are hard coral species.
• It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

• ਇਹ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਹਿੰਦ ਮਹਾਂਸਾਗਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦੇ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਤੱਟ 'ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ।
• ਇਹ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਫਰਿੰਜਿੰਗ ਕੋਰਲ ਰੀਫ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ 300 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਤੱਟਵਰਤੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
• ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ, ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਕੋਰਲ ਰੀਫਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ।
• ਇਹ ਰੀਫ ਸਮਸ਼ੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਮ ਖੰਡੀ ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਥਣਧਾਰੀ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਪ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਭਗ 250 ਕੋਰਲ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ 200 ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕੋਰਲ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
• ਇਹ ਯੂਨੈਸਕੋ ਦੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਸਾਈਟ ਹੈ। ।
