MIZORAM PIONEERS PROPERTY CARD DISTRIBUTION IN NORTHEAST
Launched on April 24, 2020, the SVAMITVA scheme aims to provide legal documentation of property ownership in rural areas using drone and GIS technology.
These property cards serve as legal proof of ownership and can be used as collateral for loans and other purposes
Mizoram has become the first Northeast state to distribute property cards under the SVAMITVA scheme, which provides legal ownership documents to rural households.
The state has already distributed 2,909 cards and plans to issue around 35,000 more in future phases, promoting rural development.
