The Asia Power Index 2025 was published by the Lowy Institute in November.
It assesses the resources and influence of countries to rank their relative power based on their ability to shape the external environment.
The index covers not only Asian countries but also extends north to Russia and into the Pacific, including Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
The United States continues to be the leading power in Asia, followed by China.
Russia, ranked fourth, has re-emerged as a significant power in Asia.
India’s Rank
India retained its position at third place in 2025, having surpassed Japan in the previous year.
