Iran Seizes Oil Tanker in Gulf of Oman/ ਈਰਾਨ ਨੇ ਓਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਖਾੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਲ ਟੈਂਕਰ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤਾ
- Iran recently seized an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman, according to Iranian media reports.
- The tanker had 18 crew members on board from India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
About the Gulf of Oman
- Also known as the Gulf of Makran, it is the north-western arm of the Arabian Sea.
- It serves as the only maritime entrance to the Persian Gulf from the Indian Ocean.
- It connects the Arabian Sea to the Strait of Hormuz, which further opens into the Persian Gulf.
- Bordering countries: Pakistan and Iran to the north, the United Arab Emirates to the west, and Oman to the south.
