Indian Navy Receives New ASW Shallow Water Craft ‘Anjadip’/ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਜਲ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਵਾਂ ASW ਸ਼ੈਲੋ ਵਾਟਰ ਕਰਾਫਟ 'ਅੰਜਦੀਪ' ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ
Indian Navy has received ‘Anjadip’, the third of eight Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC), delivered at Chennai.
The vessel is indigenously designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkata, under a PPP model with L&T Shipyard Kattupalli, in accordance with Indian Register of Shipping rules.
Naming: ‘Anjadip’ is named after Anjadip Island and is the reincarnation of the earlier Petya-class INS Anjadip, which was decommissioned in 2003.
Specifications: Approximately 77 metres long, it is among the largest Indian warships equipped with waterjet propulsion.
