- Eminent Hindi litterateur Vinod Kumar Shukla passed away at the age of 88.
- Earlier this year, he was conferred the 59th Jnanpith Award for his outstanding contributions to Hindi literature.
- The Jnanpith Award is the highest literary honour in India, given to writers for excellence in literature across Indian languages.
- Vinod Kumar Shukla became the first person from Chhattisgarh to receive this prestigious award.
- His first poetry booklet, Lagbhag Jai Hind, was published in 1971.
- His major novels include Naukar Ki Kameez, Deewar Mein Ek Khidki Rahti Thi, and Khilega To Dekhenge.

- ਉਸਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਕਾਵਿ-ਪੁਸਤਕ, ਲਗਭਗ ਜੈ ਹਿੰਦ, 1971 ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
- ਉਸਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਨਾਵਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੌਕਰ ਕੀ ਕਮੀਜ਼, ਦੀਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਖਿਡਕੀ ਰਹਿਤੀ ਥੀ, ਅਤੇ ਖਿਲੇਗਾ ਤੋਂ ਦੇਖਾਂਗੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।
