First Unit of India’s Largest Hydropower Project ‘Subansiri Lower’ Inaugurated/ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਪਣ-ਬਿਜਲੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ 'ਸੁਬਨਸਿਰੀ ਲੋਅਰ' ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਇਕਾਈ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ
- Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Power, Housing & Urban Affairs, inaugurated the commercial operation of Unit–2 (250 MW) of the 2000 MW (8×250 MW) Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project through virtual mode.
- The project is located at Gerukamukh on the Arunachal Pradesh–Assam border.
- On completion, Subansiri Lower will become India’s largest hydroelectric power plant.
- The project is being developed by the government-owned National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
- Construction began in 2005, marking one of India’s longest-running and most significant hydropower projects.
- ਮਨੋਹਰ ਲਾਲ, ਬਿਜਲੀ, ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਮੰਤਰੀ, ਨੇ ਵਰਚੁਅਲ ਮੋਡ ਰਾਹੀਂ 2000 ਮੈਗਾਵਾਟ (8×250 ਮੈਗਾਵਾਟ) ਸੁਬਨਸਿਰੀ ਲੋਅਰ ਹਾਈਡ੍ਰੋਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਦੀ ਯੂਨਿਟ-2 (250 ਮੈਗਾਵਾਟ) ਦੇ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਸੰਚਾਲਨ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
- ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਅਰੁਣਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼-ਆਸਾਮ ਸਰਹੱਦ 'ਤੇ ਗੇਰੂਕਾਮੁਖ ਵਿਖੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ।
- ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣ 'ਤੇ, ਸੁਬਨਸਿਰੀ ਲੋਅਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਣਬਿਜਲੀ ਪਲਾਂਟ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
- ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਵਾਲੀ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਹਾਈਡ੍ਰੋਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਿਕ ਪਾਵਰ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਸ਼ਨ (NHPC) ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
- ਨਿਰਮਾਣ 2005 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਜੋ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਪਣ-ਬਿਜਲੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।
