REPM scheme aims to build India’s first integrated domestic manufacturing ecosystem for high-value magnets \ REPM ਸਕੀਮ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਚ-ਮੁੱਲ ਵਾਲੇ ਚੁੰਬਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਏਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਘਰੇਲੂ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਈਕੋਸਿਸਟਮ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਹੈ।
- The Government has approved the ‘Scheme to Promote Manufacturing of Sintered Rare Earth Permanent Magnet’ with a financial outlay of ₹7,280 crore.
- The scheme aims to establish 6,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) of integrated REPM manufacturing capacity in India, covering the full chain from rare-earth oxides to finished magnets.
What is Rare Earth Permanent Magnet (REPM)?
- REPMs are amongst the strongest types of permanent magnets and are used extensively in technologies requiring compact and high-performance magnetic components.
- ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ₹7,280 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਖਰਚੇ ਨਾਲ 'ਸਿੰਟਰਡ ਰੇਅਰ ਅਰਥ ਪਰਮਾਨੈਂਟ ਮੈਗਨੇਟ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ' ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
- ਇਸ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ 6,000 ਮੀਟ੍ਰਿਕ ਟਨ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸਾਲ (MTPA) ਏਕੀਕ੍ਰਿਤ REPM ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਦੁਰਲੱਭ-ਧਰਤੀ ਆਕਸਾਈਡ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਚੁੰਬਕਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪੂਰੀ ਲੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਵਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

- REPM ਸਥਾਈ ਚੁੰਬਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਸੰਖੇਪ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਚ-ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਚੁੰਬਕੀ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
