BIS Notifies First Indian Standard for Agarbattis/ BIS ਨੇ ਅਗਰਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮਿਆਰ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ
- The Bureau of Indian Standards has released India’s first Indian Standard for incense sticks (agarbattis).
- The newly notified standard specifies the prohibition of certain insecticide chemicals and synthetic fragrance substances in agarbattis that may pose risks to human health.
- India is the world’s largest producer and exporter of agarbattis, with the industry estimated at around ₹8,000 crore annually and exports of about ₹1,200 crore to more than 150 countries.
- ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮਿਆਰ ਬਿਊਰੋ ਨੇ ਧੂਪ ਸਟਿਕਸ (ਅਗਰਬੱਤੀਆਂ) ਲਈ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਮਿਆਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
- ਨਵੇਂ ਸੂਚਿਤ ਮਿਆਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਗਰਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਟਨਾਸ਼ਕ ਰਸਾਇਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਥੈਟਿਕ ਖੁਸ਼ਬੂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਨਾਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਲਈ ਜੋਖਮ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
- ਭਾਰਤ ਅਗਰਬੱਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਉਤਪਾਦਕ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਯਾਤਕ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਉਦਯੋਗ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਲਗਭਗ ₹8,000 ਕਰੋੜ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ 150 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਭਗ ₹1,200 ਕਰੋੜ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਯਾਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
