• The Union Health Minister reviewed the progress of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) and announced that the 10th edition of the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP) 2026 will be launched in January 2026.
• The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is an autonomous national body responsible for publishing the Indian Pharmacopoeia, the official book of standards for drugs in India, ensuring their identity, purity, strength, quality, and safety under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

Operational since 1 January 2009.

• Constituted as an autonomous institution fully funded by the Government of India.
• Under the administrative control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
• Headquarters: Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Aim:

• To promote public and animal health by setting authoritative, scientifically robust drug standards.
• To support Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat through self-reliant pharmaceutical regulation and global harmonisation.
• ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫਾਰਮਾਕੋਪੀਆ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ (IPC) ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਤੀ ਦੀ ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫਾਰਮਾਕੋਪੀਆ (IP) 2026 ਦਾ 10ਵਾਂ ਐਡੀਸ਼ਨ ਜਨਵਰੀ 2026 ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
• ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫਾਰਮਾਕੋਪੀਆ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ (IPC) ਇੱਕ ਖੁਦਮੁਖਤਿਆਰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫਾਰਮਾਕੋਪੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਵਾਈਆਂ ਲਈ ਮਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਡਰੱਗਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਸਮੈਟਿਕਸ ਐਕਟ, 1940 ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ, ਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ, ਤਾਕਤ, ਗੁਣਵੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

• ਭਾਰਤ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਇੱਕ ਖੁਦਮੁਖਤਿਆਰ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਗਠਿਤ।
• ਸਿਹਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਭਲਾਈ ਮੰਤਰਾਲੇ (MoHFW) ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਕੀ ਨਿਯੰਤਰਣ ਅਧੀਨ।
• ਮੁੱਖ ਦਫਤਰ: ਗਾਜ਼ੀਆਬਾਦ, ਉੱਤਰ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼।

• ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ, ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ​​ਦਵਾਈ ਮਿਆਰ ਨਿਰਧਾਰਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਨਤਕ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ।
• ਸਵੈ-ਨਿਰਭਰ ਫਾਰਮਾਸਿਊਟੀਕਲ ਰੈਗੂਲੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਲੋਬਲ ਸੁਮੇਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਆਤਮਨਿਰਭਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਕਰਨਾ।
