• The decision was taken by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA), which confirmed Gujarat’s inclusion in the All India Tiger Estimation (AITE) 2026 following sustained evidence of tiger presence in the Ratanmahal Wildlife Sanctuary.

Ratanmahal Wildlife Sanctuary

• Location: It is located in the state of Gujarat.
• The sanctuary falls on the border of Gujarat with Madhya Pradesh.
• It was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in March 1982.
• It is also known as “Ratanmahal Sloth Bear Sanctuary” due to having the highest population of sloth bears in the state.
• ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਟਾਈਗਰ ਕੰਜ਼ਰਵੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਥਾਰਟੀ (NTCA) ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸਨੇ ਰਤਨਮਹਿਲ ਵਾਈਲਡਲਾਈਫ ਸੈਂਚੁਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਘਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਸਬੂਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਟਾਈਗਰ ਐਸਟੀਮੇਸ਼ਨ (AITE) 2026 ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।           

ਰਤਨਮਹਿਲ ਵਾਈਲਡਲਾਈਫ ਸੈਂਚੁਰੀ

• ਸਥਾਨ: ਇਹ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ।
• ਇਹ ਸੈਂਚੁਰੀ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਦੀ ਮੱਧ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ ਸਰਹੱਦ 'ਤੇ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
• ਇਸਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਚ 1982 ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਈਲਡਲਾਈਫ ਸੈਂਚੁਰੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਘੋਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
• ਇਸਨੂੰ "ਰਤਨਮਹਿਲ ਸਲੋਥ ਬੀਅਰ ਸੈਂਚੁਰੀ" ਵਜੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਲੋਥ ਰਿੱਛਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਹੈ।
