Prasar Bharati Restores Thadou Language Broadcast in Manipur/ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨੇ ਮਨੀਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਥਾਡੂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਬਹਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ
- India’s public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has initiated steps to resume live radio programmes in the Thadou language.
- The broadcasts will be aired from All India Radio (Akashvani), Imphal, strengthening linguistic inclusion and cultural preservation in Manipur.
About the Thadou Tribe
- The Thadou Tribe are an indigenous community living mainly in the hill areas adjoining the Imphal Valley in Manipur.
- Population (Census 2011): 1,90,595 in Manipur.
- They are the second largest tribe in Manipur, after the Meiteis (Manipuris).
- Smaller Thadou populations are also found in Nagaland, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Delhi.
- Language: They speak Chin and Thado, part of the Tibeto-Burman branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family.
- Culture: Thadous share a common cultural heritage with the Chin-Kuki-Mizo community.
- ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਜਨਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਕ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਨੇ ਥਾਡੂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਈਵ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਹਨ।
- ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਣ ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਰੇਡੀਓ (ਆਕਾਸ਼ਵਾਣੀ), ਇੰਫਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਜੋ ਮਨੀਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਈ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
- ਥਾਡੂ ਕਬੀਲੇ ਬਾਰੇਥਾਡੂ ਕਬੀਲਾ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਿਵਾਸੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਮਨੀਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਫਾਲ ਘਾਟੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਆਬਾਦੀ (ਜਨਗਣਨਾ 2011): ਮਨੀਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ 1,90,595।
- ਉਹ ਮੇਈਤੀ (ਮਨੀਪੁਰੀ) ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮਨੀਪੁਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਕਬੀਲਾ ਹੈ।
- ਛੋਟੀ ਥਾਡੂ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਨਾਗਾਲੈਂਡ, ਅਸਾਮ, ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰਾ, ਮੇਘਾਲਿਆ, ਮਿਜ਼ੋਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪਾਈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
- ਭਾਸ਼ਾ: ਉਹ ਚਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਥਾਡੋ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਚੀਨ-ਤਿੱਬਤੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਤਿੱਬਤੀ-ਬਰਮਨ ਸ਼ਾਖਾ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹਨ।
- ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ: ਥਾਡੂ ਚਿਨ-ਕੂਕੀ-ਮਿਜ਼ੋ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
