Dharmendra Pradhan releases 55 literary works by classical language centres / ਧਰਮਿੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਕੇਂਦਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ 55 ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ
- Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released a collection of 55 literary works prepared by centres dedicated to India’s classical languages, highlighting efforts to preserve and promote linguistic heritage.
- The collection includes works in Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Odia, and Tamil, along with a sign-language series of the Tirukkural by Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar.
- In 2024, the Modi government granted classical language status to five additional languages—Marathi, Pali, Prakrit, Assamese, and Bengali—taking the total to 11 classical languages in India.
- Earlier, six languages—Tamil, Sanskrit, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Odia—were accorded classical status during the period 2004–2024.

- ਇਸ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਨੜ, ਤੇਲਗੂ, ਮਲਿਆਲਮ, ਉੜੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਮਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ, ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਤਾਮਿਲ ਕਵੀ ਤਿਰੂਵੱਲੂਵਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤਿਰੂਕੁਰਲ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਸੰਕੇਤ-ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਲੜੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੈ।
- 2024 ਵਿੱਚ, ਮੋਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਪੰਜ ਵਾਧੂ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ - ਮਰਾਠੀ, ਪਾਲੀ, ਪ੍ਰਾਕ੍ਰਿਤ, ਅਸਾਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਗਾਲੀ - ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ - ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ 11 ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ।
- ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, 2004-2024 ਦੀ ਮਿਆਦ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਛੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ - ਤਾਮਿਲ, ਸੰਸਕ੍ਰਿਤ, ਕੰਨੜ, ਤੇਲਗੂ, ਮਲਿਆਲਮ ਅਤੇ ਉੜੀਆ - ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰੀ ਦਰਜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
