• Dr. Pal Kaur won the 2024 Sahitya Akademi Award for Poetry for her book Sun Gunvanta Sun Budhivanta. The award will be presented to her in March 2025.

• It is awarded for the most outstanding books of literary merit

• The first Awards were given in 1955.
• The Sahitya Akademi annually confers the award on writers of the most outstanding books of literary merit published in any of the 24 Indian languages (22 languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India and English and Rajasthani).
