Justice Chandrashekhar appointed as CJ of Bombay High Court
- Maharashtra Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan administered the oath
- Article 217(1) – Appointment and conditions of office of a Judge of a High Court.
- Every Judge of a High Court (including the Chief Justice) is appointed by the President of India.
- Appointment is made after consultation with the Chief Justice of India (CJI), the Governor of the State, and in case of appointment of a Judge other than the Chief Justice, also the Chief Justice of the concerned High Court.
