Former PM Manmohan Singh Conferred PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Award For Economics
- The award was instituted by the P V Narasimha Rao Memorial Foundation to recognise outstanding contributions in economics.
- P. V. Narasimha Rao was the 9th Prime Minister of India, serving from 1991 to 1996.
- He is widely regarded as the "Father of Indian Economic Reforms" for initiating major liberalization policies in 1991 during an economic crisis. As Prime Minister, he appointed Dr. Manmohan Singh as Finance Minister.
